You Already Did
You Already Did

You Already Did

I chased you like a love-sick pup,
In hopes that you would fall in love,
I gave you all that I had to offer,
But you kept running, like a rover.

I tried to win you with my heart,
But you just watched as i fell apart,
Of the game you liked to play,
And I was just a toy, you’d say.

I thought that I could change your mind,
If only I could make you find,
The love that I had deep inside,
But you were blind, and your heart denied.

And so I kept on running fast,
Hoping that you’d see at last,
The love that I could give to you,
And how much I longed for it to be true.

But then one day, you turned away,
And left me standing in dismay,
Go ahead, break my heart, God forbid,
Oh wait… you already did.
