Chasing Cars
Chasing shadows in the dusk,
Breathless in the evening’s musk,
Where the city’s whispers sigh,
Underneath a starless sky.
Streetlights flicker, gloom aflame,
Chasing dreams, a losing game,
In the maze of life’s fast lane,
Seeking solace in the rain.
Engines hum a steady beat,
Pounding rhythm of the street,
Tires whisper secrets low,
Paths we wander, paths we know.
Eyes wide open, spirits bright,
In the distance, shine of lights,
Beacon of relief and scars,
In the journey, chasing cars.
As lights come close, releasing feels,
Seconds pass, breaks hitting the wheels,
Life flashes before your eyes,
As your pain and despair dies.
